Application guide — sizing, models and mounting advice from the manufacturer
Compressors, generators and pumps vibrate, they are heavy for their size, and they need to be pulled out for service. On plain casters they walk across the floor and the fixings shake loose. Leveling casters give you a solid, damped footprint with the option to move the unit when you need to.
The pad takes the load and stands the unit on solid feet, so it stops walking and the mounting bolts stop working loose. Wind the pads up and it rolls out for a service.
A compressor on four resilient wheels is a machine on four springs. Putting the load through a fixed pad gives it a far more solid base, which is quieter and kinder to the machine.
Nylon wheels and a sealed swivel resist oil mist and damp. For outdoor installations or wash-down areas, the stainless DCST range is the right answer.
Pulling a 400 kg compressor away from a wall by hand is realistic on casters and impossible without them.
Size generously, because dynamic loads are higher than static ones. A compressor rated at 300 kg with a receiver and motor in motion should be treated as 450 kg per unit for caster sizing. Over four casters with a margin, DC-60F at 250 kg per caster suits a mid-size unit; a large industrial compressor or genset goes to DC-80F at 500 kg or DC-100F at 750 kg. Generators are usually the heaviest for their footprint, so check the weight with a full tank — fuel is heavier than most people assume.

Nylon resists oil, coolant and water, and does not take a set under a standing load. Polyurethane is quieter if the unit sits near an office or a workshop where noise matters. For outdoor or wash-down positions, choose the stainless range — a plated bracket will start to corrode within a season outside.
Yes. They are a good choice because they let the unit sit solid and damped in normal use, and still roll out for service. Size for the weight plus a margin for vibration, and remember to add the weight of a full fuel tank on a generator.
Yes, if the load is carried on the leveling pads rather than the wheels. Vibration moves equipment that is standing on wheels; it cannot move equipment standing on fixed pads.
Use our stainless steel DCST range. A zinc-plated bracket will corrode outdoors within a season. Tell us the exposure and we will advise on the wheel too.
No. Once the pads are wound down and carrying the load, the wheels are off the floor and the unit cannot roll. A brake adds nothing for a static installation.
